Today, March 3rd, the Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation online site opens to view the calendar and availability for pavilion reservations for the coming summer reservation season, which runs from May 1 through September 30.
Pavilion Reservation vs. Special Event
Sugar House Park offers seven (7) unique pavilions for reservation. Pavilion reservations are specifically for family and friend groups of 150 people or less. If you are reserving for a corporate event or have a group of 151 or more participants, you must complete the Special Event Form to reserve a pavilion. All park renters and visitors must comply with state and city laws and park rules.
Pavilion Closures in 2025
In 2025, Big Field and Parley's Creek pavilions will be demolished and replaced from April through July 2025 and unavailable for reservation. These two pavilions are the second and third pavilions under the Pavilion Replacement Program, following the successful replacement of the Fabian Lakeside Pavilion in 2024.
Athletic Fields Remain Open for Reservations
The Big Field Athletic Field remains available to reserve for races or competitions through the Athletic Field Use Form.
In 2025, Big Field and Parley's Creek pavilions will be closed from April through July for demolition and replacement and will be unavailable for reservations.
First Come, First Served
If a pavilion reservation sign is blank, pavilions are first come first served. Pavilions are not reservable on state holidays and are first come, first served, including:
Memorial Day
Juneteenth
Independence Day
Pioneer Day
Labor Day
Reservation Time Blocks and Fees
Full Day: Anytime between 8 am and 10 pm – $130.
Morning Half Day: Between 8 am and 2 pm – $90. Must vacate the pavilion by 2 pm.
Afternoon Half Day: Between 4 pm and 10 pm – $90. Cannot use the pavilion before 4 pm.
Park staff performs mid-day cleaning between 2 pm and 4 pm for pavilions with half-day reservations. Reservations that span time between the 1/2 day blocks; for example, 9 am to 3 pm or 2 pm to 6 pm) are charged at the full day price of $130.
